Pacific Islands are uncontaminated paradises. Nature is lively and wild. Among the million species of flora and fauna in these paradises is the Sandal. The Sandal originates south of the Tropic of Cancer. From there it was exported to China and South America and further cultivated from there. The Sandal is an evergreen, ten meter high tree and the wood is light yellow and has a typical musk scent. The white/yellow flowers are grouped between the leaves or in the top. The fruits are drupes. The precious and aromatic Sandal oil is distilled from the central part of the trunk and from the roots. Incense made from the Sandal wood is widely used in meditation.
